Job Description
  • Advise budget holders and managers, help them manage financial risk and contribute to financial decisions
  • Support programme budgets and financial plans, monitor spending against budgets and advise on grant-related risks, cost recovery and co-funding
  • Oversee implementing partners' financial reports and support partner assessments and capacity building
  • Audit selected implementing partners
  • Review monthly management information and support reporting design and the external audit
  • Lead internal audit planning including drafting the annual audit plan for Audit & Risk Committee approval
  • Maintain audit procedures, deliver the audit plan, report findings and track recommendations
Requirements
  • Professional accounting or equivalent audit qualification and experience
  • Significant experience in financial management, budgeting and reporting
  • Experience in an NGO, charity or similar organization
  • Understanding of donor-funded programmes and donor compliance
  • Experience in financial audit, compliance and investigation
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and relationship skills
  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams
  • Right to work and live in one of the listed locations
  • Desirable: partner-led programming and partner financial management experience
  • Desirable: preparing donor budgets and financial reports
  • Desirable: knowledge of UK charity finance, Charity SORP and auditing standards
  • Desirable: MS Business Central or similar accounting systems
