Lead Prerender (saas.group), a dynamic rendering SaaS platform serving billions of pages to web crawlers, transforming engineering into a high-velocity, product-focused team that moves fast and ships features that matter.
Own the technology vision, roadmap, and engineering strategy for Prerender, aligned with business objectives.
Lead adoption of AI-assisted development tooling to multiply team productivity.
Drive architecture and infrastructure decisions with a holistic view of total cost of ownership.
Run a multi-region, Kubernetes-based render fleet efficiently and reliably.
Represent Prerender's technical capabilities to customers, partners, and the market.
Maintain high standards of software quality, performance, security, and reliability.
Track shifts in technology and engineering practice.
Own security and compliance as a standing program, including SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification.
Keep the security program legible with named owners and no single points of failure.
Coach and mentor approximately seven engineers to reach their full potential.
Build a culture of ownership where engineers carry decisions through.
Foster diversity and inclusion within engineering.
Own the continuous improvement motion of delivery.
Enhance DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems.
Define and track engineering metrics that matter.
Manage change deliberately with proper notice and consultation.
Partner with the CEO and leadership team on company strategy and communicate progress to the board.
Work closely with Product to align engineering capacity with customer needs.
Translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Own the full R&D budget including personnel, infrastructure, tooling, and vendor relationships.
Run the budget as a managed number with infrastructure cost models.
Make decisions for engineering without micromanagement.
Requirements
10+ years in software engineering and 5+ years in senior leadership (VP/Director/CTO) at a SaaS company.
Strong infrastructure background with large-scale distributed systems and production Kubernetes experience.
Demonstrated ability to embed AI tooling into engineering workflows and multiply team productivity, with an understanding of its limitations.
Proven experience coaching and developing engineering teams through transformation.
Track record of raising delivery speed, measuring it, and sustaining improvements long-term.
Experience landing process and platform change with stakeholder buy-in.
Experience owning a security and compliance program in a SaaS company (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or equivalent).
Business-oriented and hands-on, connecting engineering decisions to revenue.
Experience with scalable, high-performance web products, CI/CD, DevOps, and security.
Excellent communication skills; comfortable with executives and boards.
Async-first communication with clear, timely updates and documentation.
SEO or search-related experience is a plus.
