Job Description
Initial 12-month contract.
Assess the financial capacity of prospective partners and classify them into risk tiers that determine disbursement methods.
Design budget templates and manage fund disbursements for the incubation funding envelope.
Ensure subrecipients follow financial reporting standards and eligible-cost rules.
Run monthly budget-to-actual reviews, audits and corrective action plans.
Consolidate subrecipient spending into unified financial statements in QuickBooks and report to the Director of Finance.
Manage the subgrant pipeline from call for proposals through closeout, including training, desk reviews and monitoring visits.
Prepare accurate multi-currency donor reports and enforce restricted-fund compliance.
Co-design proposal budgets, track donor tranches and support donor-commissioned audits.
Lead the new Grants & Compliance Unit and perform other duties assigned by the Director of Finance.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field.
CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent certification preferred.
5+ years of grant administration, subgrantee management, auditing or financial compliance experience, or a senior finance manager role at an international nonprofit, incubator or aggregator in Africa.
Proven record managing large institutional funder grants.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks), grants management applications and advanced Excel.
Strong analytical skills, sound judgment in capacity assessment and risk tiering, and excellent technical writing.
Ability to coordinate multi-country partners and work with remote collaboration tools.
Currently based in Africa with a valid work permit for your country of residence and able to travel within Africa.
