Job Description
  • Set Toptal's AI product strategy across the marketplace, talent and client experiences, internal systems, and market-facing products.
  • Decide which AI initiatives to pursue or drop, including build-vs-buy choices and AI product pricing.
  • Define measurable AI quality through evaluations, acceptance thresholds, and review loops, working closely with Engineering.
  • Use AI to change how product work is done, and drive adoption among product managers.
  • Own the vision, multi-year roadmap, and investment allocation across the full product portfolio, including what to sunset.
  • Build an evidence-based product operating model and the metrics behind it.
  • Lead product integration of acquisitions and new products, and act as a senior voice for customers.
  • Decide how product teams should be structured as PM, engineering, and design roles blur.
  • Own resourcing, workforce planning, and time-sensitive hiring.
  • Review product work directly and develop people against a clear performance bar.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably technical; master's strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of software product management experience.
  • 8+ years leading product organizations, including managing other product leaders.
  • A record of raising a product organization's quality through hiring and development.
  • Owned a full product portfolio at a high-growth tech company, accountable for business outcomes.
  • Set executive-level strategy and turned it into roadmaps across multiple teams.
  • Led AI-enabled products with measurable business results.
  • Hands-on expertise in modern AI (agents, orchestration, retrieval, fine-tuning, evaluation, production model economics).
  • Growth marketing fluency across acquisition, activation, conversion, and retention.
  • Strong plus: marketplace, platform, or two-sided business experience.
  • Strong plus: prior software engineering experience.
  • Comfortable using SQL or spreadsheets and conducting user research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Agile experience with globally distributed teams in a fast-paced environment.
