Help enterprises adopt Ubuntu Pro, OpenStack, Canonical MicroCloud, Kubernetes and related technologies as part of the Field Engineering team, working closely with enterprise sales leads in the presales cycle.
Gather customer business requirements and advise on Ubuntu and related open source applications.
Identify customer challenges with open source and explain how Ubuntu Pro can address them.
Give presentations and demonstrations of Ubuntu Pro to prospects and current customers.
Relay customer requirements to product teams to influence the roadmap.
Work with the sales team to meet shared targets.
Travel up to 25% of the time for internal and external events, and up to 25% for customer meetings.
Requirements
Strong academic record, plus either an undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a clear account of an alternative path.
Practical knowledge of Linux, virtualization, containers and networking.
Business-minded, with a technical problem-solving approach.
Familiarity with cloud concepts and providers such as Kubernetes, AWS, Azure and GCP.
Interest in enterprise open source, including private clouds, machine learning, AI and data analytics.
Intermediate Python skills.
Evidence of technical interest, such as personal projects.
Linux experience, with Debian or Ubuntu preferred.
Professional written and spoken English, with strong presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, accountability and self-motivation.
Willingness to travel internationally, including company events of up to two weeks.
